honestly great!!

We were served by Emma, Daisy and Bekah last Sunday. My party of 4 all opted for the Roast and we can honestly say that it was wonderful.
The staff were very attentive without being intrusive and were very friendly.
Thank you The Retreat for a wonderful meal and great service!

pleasantly surprised

We’re local to the pub and due to bad experiences it was the first time we’d visited since the new General Manager had taken over. Significant difference. Beer kept well, good atmosphere and food even better. Well worth a visit

Live Music Events

We organise live music events as often as possible and we enjoy them almost as much as you do! There’s usually a gig planned for at least one evening each month. Sign up for our mailing list to be the first to find out about the next event!

Open Mic Night

Every Tuesday evening musicians from the area gather for an informal jamming session. It’s very relaxed and fun for anyone wanting to play in front of a friendly audience or just listen to some talented performers.

Quiz Night

Every Wednesday The Retreat becomes the hub of competitive drinkers who narrowly missed out on their Mastermind appearance. It does get fierce but mostly it’s just good fun.

There are cash prizes to be won every week. Entry is £2 per person and there are no minimum or maximum team sizes (although teams over 6 will have points deducted). Regrettably, we can’t accept table reservations for the pub quiz so please turn up before 7 to grab a good table!

The manager was incredibly accommodating, happy to work with all of our requests, and very flexible in helping us stay within our budget without compromising on anything. We were able to decorate the venue exactly how we wanted, and the team worked with us to make sure everything ran smoothly with our DJ, dance floor and selfie booth. On the day itself, the staff couldn’t have done more for us. They were constantly clearing tables, the bar service was excellent all evening, and the BBQ food was absolutely outstanding – so many of our guests commented on how good it was. Thank you to everyone at The Retreat for helping make our wedding day so special. We couldn’t have asked for a better venue or team! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
