Intimate weddings

The Garden Room

Our private function room, with exposed brick, skylights, its own bar access and enough floor for a proper dance floor and light up letters if you fancy them. Doors open straight onto the garden. It is the right choice for a small wedding venue in Staines when you want something private without paying for space you will not use.

Summer weddings

The Garden

A big, enclosed garden with benches, parasols and festoon lights strung overhead. It is where our BBQ weddings happen, with the chefs cooking in front of your guests under the gazebo. Garden wedding receptions in Staines do not come much more relaxed than this.

Up to 300 guests

Whole Venue Hire

For bigger weddings we close the doors to the public and the whole pub is yours: the main bar, the dining areas, the garden room and the garden. Exclusive use, one team looking after you, and nobody wandering in for a pint mid speech.

Wedding Food and Drink

Our buffet menu starts at £12.50 a head and covers everything from sandwiches and sausage rolls to hot dishes. BBQ weddings are the crowd favourite in summer: burgers, sausages, chicken and the rest cooked on the grill in the garden while your guests get a drink in.

If you have something else in mind, a hog roast, a sit down Sunday roast, a sweet table, a late night pizza run, just tell us what you want and we will cater to it. We can put together drinks packages too, from arrival fizz to a bar tab, and our cocktails are better than a pub’s have any right to be.

Send the form below with your date, rough numbers and what you have in mind. We reply within a couple of days with availability and a starting point on food and drink.

Come and See It

Pop in for a drink and a walk round. We will talk through the room, the garden, timings, music and all the things you have not thought of yet.

Book the Date

A deposit holds your date. Final numbers and menu choices are confirmed nearer the time, and then all you have to do is turn up married.

Wedding Venue FAQs

Can we hold our wedding ceremony at The Retreat?
We host wedding receptions rather than ceremonies. Most of our couples get married at Staines Register Office or a church nearby, then come straight to us for the drinks, the food and the party. We are a ten minute drive from the register office at Knowle Green.
How many guests can you take for a wedding?
From 12 to 300. The garden room suits smaller weddings, the garden opens things up in summer, and for large weddings you can hire the whole venue exclusively.
Is there a hire fee, or a minimum spend?
It depends on the day, the numbers and whether you want a room or the whole pub. Send us your date and we will give you a straight answer with no surprises later.
Can we bring a DJ, a band or our own playlist?
Yes to all three. We have hosted DJs, live bands and phones plugged into the speakers. Tell us what you are planning and we will sort the timings and the sound.
Can we decorate the room ourselves?
Of course. Balloons, flowers, light up letters, a sweet table, a photo backdrop. We will let you know when you can get in to set up.
Can we bring our own wedding cake?
Yes, and we will keep it somewhere safe, cut it and serve it for you.
Are children and dogs welcome?
Both. We are a family pub and a dog friendly pub, and that does not change on a wedding day.
Is there parking, and how do guests get here?
There is parking at the pub and free on street parking nearby. We are on Staines Road, TW18 2RT, a short taxi from Staines station, junction 13 of the M25 and Heathrow, which makes life easy for guests travelling in.
What time does the wedding have to finish?
We are open until 11pm daily. If you need something different, ask, and we will tell you what is possible.
